How do I know if I need to be seen by lactation support? Isn’t breastfeeding natural? Shouldn’t it be easy?

Studies have shown that effective support for healthy mothers and term babies on their breastfeeding journey includes education by trained professionals during prenatal and/or postnatal care, ongoing scheduled visits, and individualized guidance tailored to the needs and setting of the family.

Breastfeeding is a natural biological process—but in today’s world, routine hospital interventions and societal expectations can influence both the initiation and continuation of the breastfeeding journey. That’s why I believe education is empowering. When you’re equipped with knowledge, you can explore your options, weigh the risks and benefits, and make informed decisions that truly work for you and your family.

Before the birth of my daughter, I did what I could to prepare, but my journey was still shaped by unexpected challenges, including infection, infant reflux, tethered oral tissues, and more. I overcame these hurdles by researching, seeking support, and advocating for both myself and my baby.

Now, I’m here to do the same for you—to help you plan ahead, to educate and empower you, and to support you in navigating any obstacles that arise along the way.
